Beginner Level Certificate
HWA Beginner curriculum will build a basic foundation to the world of wine. It is designed for both, who enjoys the wine and to the hospitality professionals. On completion, students will know basic wine types, wine making countries, main grape varieties, basic food and wine pairing etc.
Study Hours: 4 Hours (Classroom) plus 6 Hours (Self Study)
Entry Requirements: Anyone with legal drinking age in Nepal and who can write, read, speak and understands English language.
Evaluation: Theory (60 minutes) – 50 Multiple Choice Questions (100 Points).
Fees: NPR 12000 plus taxes.
Wine Steward Certificate
HWA Wine Steward curriculum will build an intermediate knowledge to the world of wine. It is designed for the serious hospitality professionals as well as to the ones who wants a growth in wine industry. On completion, students will know major grapes variety, wine types including fortified wines, major wine regions in the world, standard service techniques, food & wine harmony, right approach for wine tasting etc.
Study Hours:
- 8 Hours (Classroom)
- 12 Hours (Self Study)
Entry Requirements: HWA- Beginner Certified/ WSET- Level 1 Certified in Wine.
Evaluation:
- 8 Hours (Classroom) Theory (60 minutes) – 30 Multiple Choice Questions (60 Points)
- 12 Hours (Self Study) Short Written Answers of 4 questions (20 Points)
- Blind Tasting (30 minutes) – 1 White Wine and 1 Red Wine (20 Points)
Fees: NPR 25000 plus taxes.
Wine Sommelier Diploma
HWA Wine Sommelier curriculum will build an extensive and in depth knowledge to the world of wine. Recommended for serious wine enthusiasts and professionals particularly those involved in restaurant service. This course details the wine regions of the old and new world with relevant subject tastings. Diploma graduates will be able to know and execute the high level of restaurant service styles. Wine Sommelier will be able to coach and demonstrate confidently on wine theory and practical parts.

- 30 Hours (Classroom)
- 60 Hours (Self Study))
Entry Requirements: HWA- Wine Steward Certified/ WSET- Level 2 Certified in Wine/ CMS- Introductory Certified/ ISG- Intermediate Wine Certified/ SWE- Certified Specialist of Wine.
Evaluation:
- Theory (60 minutes) – 10 Multiple Choice Questions (20 Points), Short Written Answers of 2 questions (10 Points) and Long Written Answers of 2 questions (20 Points).
- Blind Tasting (40 minutes) – 1 White Wine and 2 Red Wine (30 Points).
- Practical (20 minutes) – Table Service of Sparkling/ Rose/ White/ Red Wine (20 Points

Retake
Students who have failed an examination can take an exam again by making the payment 20% of total course fees.
